مدرسة ابرق خيطان المتوسطة للبنين أن خيطان كانت قرية برزت كمنطقة سكنية عام 1956 و تبعد عن العاصمة 10 كم الى الجنوب و مساحتها حوالي 2 كم مربعا و كان عدد سكانها في إحصاء عام 1965 حوالي ( 23610 نسمة ) و ارتفع في عام 1970 الى حوالي ( 37992 نسمة ) و أخذت المنطقة تكبر و تتسع تدريجيا الى أن وصلت الى ما هي عليها الآن . و أول مدرسة ثانوية افتتحت فيها كان في عام 68/69 باسم ثانوية خيطان للبنين .
