Abstract Santos by Diane Chavez
Abstract Santos are fine art paintings and prints by Diane Chavez. Diane Chavez creates her Abstract Santos in oil paint as a variation on traditional santos traditions of hispanics of the American Southwest and Mexico. Santos (painted and carved images of saints) are visual aids for the Spanish Catholic religion. Santos have lived in the homes of Hispanic New Mexican as well as Native American families for hundreds of years to help explain the stories of the saints to the native peoples. At first, some statues were brought from Spain and Mexico but the responsibility for making santos was handled by Franciscan friars and then by local craftspersons and artists. Santeros, the artists who make the images of saints, supply New Mexican churches and homes.

To improve performance of WHOIS service and to prevent its excessive high-volume use by a single source, we implemented a randomly generated Access Code that must be entered before running a WHOIS request.

Please enter the Access Code from the image field into the text field and then click the Continue button to proceed with your request.

The Access Code in the box is provided in graphics format. It has letters which are generated randomly and the symbol images are distorted. The distorted symbols cannot be read by computer programs which are used for mass-collect email addresses and any customer information. Only humans can read the distorted symbols and pass the access code. The Access Code improves performance of our services. It prevents excessive high-volume use by a single source.

The services that require Access Codes are:
