Jonah Ryan Ward is an American artist born August 31, 1984 in Willits, California. Jonah uses various natural elements such as glass, fire, paper, water, wood and beeswax to create his artwork. His largest body of work are his glass-burned wood panel pieces where he uses a process, that he discovered in art school, where he drips molten glass onto wood to create unique, charred-line drawings. Another orignal body of work Jonah is known for is his Burning Water series. In this original process he runs streams of water down sheets of paper and then torches the paper. This process results in crinkled and charred strips of paper that he then layers and lights from above.
