Tara Milutis is an American filmmaker whose background is in Fine Arts and Drama. She studied painting in London before entering the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she received a BFA in Drama in conjunction with the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting. Since graduating she has worked both as a director and actress in film, theatre and television, working for some of the leading advertising agencies, television networks and production companies throughout the world.
She is interested in cultural identities; the diversity that defines us as well as the common threads that join us all. In her early work she found her cultural studies and narrative stories in the diverse Lower East Side of Manhattan, while at present her filmmaking has evolved to a more global scope. She has lived, worked and traveled extensively all over Southeast Asia, and is currently in post-production on her first feature-length documentary that she shot and directed over a nine-month period in Vietnam. She is based out of Bangkok.
