Sinds 1416, grafisch ontwerp en visueel onderzoek is in september 2005 opgericht door Dirk Claessens & Maarten Verweij.
Wij werken in opdracht en ontwikkelen projecten op het gebied van grafisch ontwerp, visuele communicatie, en de publieke ruimte.
Sinds 1416 hanteert diverse stijlen en werkmethodes waardoor we kunnen werken aan zeer uitéénlopende opdrachten. Naast ontwerpen voor diverse huisstijlen, campagnes, tentoonstellingen, catalogi of websites werken we ook aan concepten voor ontwerpopdrachten in de publieke ruimte. Sinds 1416 vervult steeds vaker een positie tussen enerzijds de producenten van de publieke ruimte en anderzijds de gebruiker daarvan.
Sinds 1416 is gespecialiseerd in visueel onderzoek. Door middel van dit beeldende onderzoek of visueel essay kunnen we de complexiteit van ontwerpopdrachten (op het gebied van visuele communicatie of de publieke ruimte) goed onderzoeken en de opgave ordenen. Ons onderzoek is gericht op een procesmatige aanpak van analyse, communicatie en ontwerp. Het geeft de context van een probleem weer en documenteert onderzoeks- resultaten, ideeën en mogelijke oplossingen. Het onderzoek resulteert in (ontwerp)voorstellen en vormt een basis voor verder overleg.
Sinds 1416 werkt samen met beoefenaars van verschillende disciplines als (landschaps)architecten, 3d ontwerpers, tekstschrijvers of beeldend kunstenaars en heeft reeds een brede ervaring opgebouwd met communicatie, beeldtaal en visueel onderzoek via uiteenlopende media.

Since 1416, graphic design & visual research was founded in September 2005 by Dirk Claessens &
Maarten Verweij.
We work in commission and develop projects within the field of graphic design, visual communication and public space.
Since 1416 uses different styles and working-methods whereby we can work on a wide variety
of assignments. Besides graphic concepts for house styles, campaigns, exhibitions, catalogs or websites, commissions in public space form an important part of our activities.
On a regular basis Since 1416 Graphic Designers take position between producers of public space and its users.
Since 1416 is specialized in visual research. By means of this visual research or visual essay we can explore the complexity of specific commissions (within the field of visual communication or public space).
Our research is not geared to results, but focused on the process. It documents the development of ideas, records interim solutions, research results and images, argues thoughts and illustrates the context of the problem. The research results in design proposals and serves as a basis for deliberation.
Since 1416 collaborates with the practitioners of different disciplines such as (landscape)architects, 3d designers, writers or artists and has already had extensive experience of communication, research and the uses of visual language within diverse media.

To improve performance of WHOIS service and to prevent its excessive high-volume use by a single source, we implemented a randomly generated Access Code that must be entered before running a WHOIS request.
