Het Galilei-Effect | Inleiding
Copernicus had het idee van een heliocentrisch zonnestelsel (de zon als centrum van het zonnestelsel) vóór Galilei ook al openbaar gemaakt. Maar zijn opvattingen werden gezien als een dwazenuitspraak.
Galilei publiceerde zijn waarnemingen met de telescoop in 1610. Vanaf 1612 ontstond er verzet tegen Galileis bewijzen voor een Copernicaans heliocentrisch zonnestelsel, dat toen vrijwel als ketterij werd beschouwd. De kerk vermaande Galilei de theorie niet meer te verbreiden, maar uiteindelijk werd Galilei, omdat hij wel publiceerde, tot levenslang huisarrest veroordeeld. Van 1633 tot zijn dood in 1642. De kerk heeft pas in 1992 Galilei haar excuses aangeboden.

RBL Check - you can run 20 RBL Check requests before you will be prompted to enter an Access Code.
