LAKE BAFA: The former estuary is famous for its magnificent wildlife: 224 species of birds and rich flora, and its islands, with their historic monasteries. CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS: At our guest house, we host photography courses, outward bound courses for students, and practical Turkish courses for international visitors. The guest house is run by a retired teacher and his sons so guests are in good hands! CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: We offer trekking tours into the rugged, historic rocks of the Latmos (Beşparmak) Mountains, as well as botanical and bird-watching tours, and boat trips on the lake. HERAKLEIA: An ancient town, that has been inhabited since prehistoric settlers lived in the caves of the Latmos mountains, its history stretches across the Archaic, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods through to the Christian hermits. It is best known for the legend of the moon goddess Selene.
