Description: Local 1613 of the National Border Patrol Council is the exclusive representative of approximately 1500 non-supervisory Border Patrol Agents and support personnel assigned to the San Diego Sector of the United States Border Patrol. The Border Patrol, which formerly existed under the Department of Justice (DOJ), Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), is now within the Department of Homeland Security, under the direction of the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection.
