Description: CAL Studio is a firm of architects, engineers and planners, engaged in an innovative and sustainable-oriented approach on planning and design. Its offices are located in Milan and Palermo. Our work meets the principles of a professional ethics responding to a basic need: to offer, by the means of both little and greater works, an interface between man, society and nature. For this purpose we are ever committed to put in balance the tools of valorisation and preservation as well as the ones of modification, searching not to miss the values of a conservative approach neither those linked to an innovative one. As such we are deeply concerned by strengthen a special sense of places and common values, to enhance the sense of community and increase the sense of identity. Since 1978, each running a different career, the members of CAL Studio have been involved in several dozens of plans and projects, serving almost ever in leader roles. The works, designed as uniquely-tailored projects, have been carried out for a wide range of clients, from local to regional public bodies, from private individuals to organizations. The firm's expertise include the following areas: planning, building recovery, tourism, housing, facilities, landscape and natural areas, infrastructures. Among them planning is the area in which CAL Studio boasts a special competence, mainly devoted to master plans, preservation and housing development. These various fields of interest can be seen running trough the images of the selected works here attached. The ambition to cover different specialised fields is connected with the idea that a similar integrated approach can be adopted in planning as well as in design process, waving from territorial to urban and building scale, guided by a ruling goal: to link the man to his living space, the private to the public spaces, the change to the environment protection, in a perspective of sustainable development. In this direction CAL Studio possesses the more updated ICT tools, in terms of ODL, GIS, CAD, Supporting Collaborative Working, etc
