The Centre of Excellence for Simulation Education and Innovation

Description: Patient simulation is a key learning tool to provide healthcare providers and interprofessional teams with training on real life health care situations in simulated environments.  It replicates real world situations without risk to actual patients, and can be used to teach therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, as well as medical concepts and decision making skills.  Patient simulation promotes teamwork, increased competence in patient care and avoidance of patient safety risks. The Canadian Network for Simulation in Healthcare is being formed to facilitate collective action among stakeholders to advance patient-centred simulation across the country.  The mission of the Canadian Network for Simulation in Healthcare is to provide a platform for promotion and advancement of patient-centred simulation among health professionals, educators, administrators, regulators and policy-makers across Canada.
