Description: Welcome to our home page. We live in Atlanta, Georgia and have been traveling and taking photographs for many years. Ren is a native Atlantan. He graduated from Emory University and earned a Masters in Health Administration from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He served in the Administration of Emory Crawford Long Hospital and Emory Healthcare for 32 years before retiring in 2009. He also is a freelance travel writer and photographer. His work has been published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other Cox newspapers, Georgia Journal Magazine, Georgia Magazine, Atlanta Magazine, Tennis Magazine, and other periodicals. He has also contributed chapters to Fodor's Pocket Guide to Atlanta and Fodor's Cityguide Atlanta. In 2003 he completed Caring for Atlanta: A History of Emory Crawford Long Hospital. Most recently, He and Helen co-authored Best Hikes Near Atlanta and Best Easy Day Hikes Atlanta, both for Falcon Guides. Ren is a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association [NATJA] Helen is a professional educator. She is a native of Lewistown, PA and graduated from Ohio State University. She earned her Masters in Education from Georgia State University. She taught in the Atlanta Public Schools for twenty years and spent the past nine years teaching in a local private school where she specialized in working with children with learning disabilities. She retired in June 2009. Ren and Helen have co-authored four popular guidebooks: Atlanta Walks: A Comprehensive Guide to Walking, Running, and Bicycling the Area's Scenic and Historic Locales; Georgia Walks: Discovery Hikes Through the Peach State's Natural and Human History; Best Hikes Near Atlanta; and Best Easy Day Hikes Atlanta. The first two books were produced by Peachtree Publishers [www.peachtree-online.com]; while the second two were produced by Falcon Guides, a division of Globe Pequot.
