Description: Back from the artistic-heritage of the British/American artist John S. Sargent, the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Arts (HKAFA) was founded by internationally acclaimed artist CHAN Hoi-ying. The HKAFA was the first to be acknowledged by the Hong Kong Education Department. Its mission is to provide valuable Asian Cultural Education and Experience as well as motivate students to contribute Artistic Culture to society and gain professional training in art. The HKAFA students are given the solid foundation upon which to develop their individual creativity, artistic style and technique, enabling them to become professional artists, art educators, designers / illustrators, directors of art societies and associations.
