Grasshopper

Description: The Grasshopper is a Non Governmental Organisation run by young professionals of North-East India dedicated and committed to the cause of nature conservation. The continuous loss of forest cover and exploitation of rich flora and fauna around North-East India is serious matter for the future generation of the region. Obliged by the need of proper awareness amongst people of the region about biodiversity conservation few young minds lead to the initiation and inception of The Grasshopper Society in the year 1995. Grasshopper was initially involved in conservation awareness amongst school and college students through nature tourism in different parts of North East India. From late 1999 onwards however, Grasshopper has been involved in biodiversity research and conservation in protected areas of the region.
