Description: Having fallen "almost" off the grid, we landed in a hidden oasis of quiet and peace. The small hamlet of Cherry Grove sports no stores, post offices, or other main street businesses. It consists of a small Chapel (privately owned) and a group of homes nestled around the North Fork river and the Big Run Creek. It boasts one (1) stop sign at the corner of Snowy Mountain Rd and SR28. The pastoral setting of the hamlet remains quiet with the soft lowing of the cattle across the road providing "white noise". Occasionally a log trucker's Jake Brake will break the tranquility with its blaring squeal as a trucker hits the bottom of the 9 mile "big run" from the top of Elk Mountain. What better place is there to sit back and enjoy and create.
