Description: The future of the developing world depends on a shift in the foreign aid paradigm that predominates today. Too often, young people are required to abandon their surroundings in order to obtain opportunities for self-improvement, and too often foreign aid does little to encourage self-created solutions. Thus, Semnotes seeks to inspire talented, but marginalized, young people from economically disadvantaged communities to educate, enrich and empower themselves so that they may make significant contributions to the transformation of their home communities.
