The Teares of The Muses -- New York University Collegium Musicum Consort of Viols

Description: THE TEARES OF THE MUSES, a New York University performing ensemble and branch of the Collegium Musicum, is made up of proficient musicians from the NYU FAS Music Department and the NYU community. TEARES OF THE MUSES performs frequently in configurations from two to five members at NYU and at various venues around the city, as well as playing benefits for non-profit organizations. The mission of TEARES OF THE MUSES is to introduce the elegant and lively early-music repertory for viols to new audiences, including both Renaissance and Baroque music by composers as various as Byrd, Gibbons, Dowland, Morley, Purcell, Charpentier, Schein, Schütx and Gabrieli.
