Description: The Telecommunications and Information Policy Group (TIPG) is a component program of the Social Science Research Institute of the College of Social Science at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. The TIPG conducts and facilitates basic and applied research into Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policy, regulation, technology systems and applications in Hawaii and the Pacific Islands Region and shares its knowledge through education, workshops, and other program activities. The TIPG also operates the Pan-Pacific Education and Communication Experiments by Satellite (PEACESAT) program; the State of Hawaii Telehealth Access Network (STAN); and the Pacific Partners Networks for distance learning, telehealth and telemedicine, and healthcare informatics.
