There is a lot of truth to the old adage “If you don’t use it, you lose it!” People of all ages are becoming more sedentary, which causes a loss of ability to do many things. Simple things, such as standing up from a chair or reaching for an item on a high shelf, become very challenging. The less we do, the more we lose. Train & Fit offers the expertise and support to build a base for muscular stability and functional maintenance as individuals age. A combination of strength, flexibility, and balance exercises assists individuals to be able to continue with normal activities of daily living. Sessions result in individual’s feeling satisfied and successful. In addition, long term results include an increase in self confidence and esteem, more energy, and an increase in balance, strength, coordination, and motivation. A program is specialized for the individual depending on their health and capabilities. During the initial consult, a Health and Risk Check Questionnaire is completed. Health history and goals are discussed to design a program to fit the individual. Michelle is a local of Virginia Beach, VA. Fitness became a way of life in her twenties when she began an exercise program for her own well being. She pursued her passion for health and fitness by receiving a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Old Dominion University in May, 2000. Michelle and her husband, Ozzy, live a healthy lifestyle by being active together. They participate in biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking. Michelle has been working with the senior population for 15 years. She brings a variety of experience, lifestyle, and motivation to her private and group sessions. She offers In-Home Personal Training as well as Group Exercise Classes. Both settings are guided by the principle to maintain and/or improve a client’s health and independence.
