Description: Floatainer systems are a variety of modular marine craft and floating containers designed to deliver and land goods to shorelines with no wharf facilities. They include commercial barges capable of carrying standard shipping containers, vehicles and general cargo and a range of floating containers. Smaller containers combine in a nest configuration making up a hull, which can be floated ashore. All components break down to structures complying with the standard dimensions and fittings of shipping containers. The various components can also be assembled to provide floating or span bridges making the system ideal for military or disaster relief operations.
