Historic Texas State Railroad, Trains
have been rolling along the
Texas State Railroad, passing through the beautiful pineywoods and rolling
hardwood creek bottoms of East Texas since 1896, and are still maintained
as a fully self-contained railroad system with crews that maintain and
operate four steam engines, four antique diesel locomotives and a complete
steam engine restoration shop while the track crew maintains over 25 miles
of track and 24 bridges.
