I am a retired health educator and writer. The purpose of my Web site is to educate the public about health issues and balance some of the media facts that are deceptive, inaccurate, or biased. Often politics and monetary gain, or the need for sensationalism, influence what is reported - or not reported, and there are times when the announced outcome of a study is not even the same as the conclusions of the researchers. Some health information is flawed, deceptive, or inaccurate, and the media often omits some of the necessary facts so that the public does not get the whole story. A single study can be presented as an absolute, when there often are many other studies that give different or opposite outcomes, and the result is that individuals then make choices that are not in their best interest.
