Charles White was an
African American artist whose artistic achievement spanned 60 years of
American Social Realism. His work includes paintings and murals for the
Works Progress Administration as well as drawings, and printmaking.
White also was honored with awards from the National Academy of Design
and many other international citations. His work is archived in the
Smithsonian Archives of American Art in Washington , D.C. , as well as
The Huntington Library in San Marino, CA, and at Syracuse University,
Syracuse, N.Y.
