AAAP/HANDS The mission of the Alabama Autism Assistance Program (AAAP) is to provide scholarships and therapy to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Autism affects 1 out of 150 children. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is the only method that has been scientifically proven to help children with autism progress. AAAP has been established to help children receive these services who could not otherwise afford them. In addition, through our HANDS Program, one on one and small group therapy is provided. Biomedical interventions are also becoming a vital component in improving the lives of children with autism. Unfortunately, families must pay for both of these beneficial therapies out of pocket with little to no assistance from insurance or outside sources.
