In The Nest : A local Bloomington rescue for animals We are a small group of people who rescue and foster unwanted, abandoned, neglected and abused dogs and cats. All our animals are placed in foster homes. We are NOT a shelter. Our dogs/cats stay in their foster homes as long as it takes to ensure that they are healthy both physically and emotionally. We keep them in our care as long as it takes to find out about their personalities and their needs so we can match them with a suitable home. While in our foster homes, we provide excellent care for the dogs and cats. They live in a regular household with a regular family life. The dogs socialize with other dogs and with cats, they get lots of exercise and play time, they eat high quality food including raw meat, vegetables and supplements in accordance with their individual needs, they receive training as necessary but most of all, they experience a lot of love and happiness. All our animals receive veterinary care as necessary which includes physical evaluations, tests and treatments as necessary. All our animals are spayed or neutered before they go to their new home. We want for our animals to receive the same kind of care when they go to their new forever home. We believe that a dog or a cat should be considered a family member and be treated accordingly. Adopting a cat or dog is a big responsibility. Please consider every aspect of your life before making the decision of adopting a new companion.
