The night sky is often overlooked as a subject for your camera. It’s always there and simply overlooked as a subject for your camera, yet it contains many thousands of objects that are both spectacular and awe inspiring. At Astrograph we want to show you how, with just a little knowledge and some basic equipment, you can start taking photographs of the night sky. With modern digital SLR cameras it is really much easier than you may think. Our site has two purposes. One is education, where we will explain how to take photographs with the simplest equipment, right up to using specialised astronomical equipment and image editing software to capture the deepest of deep sky objects. We aim to help you gain knowledge and make the right choices every step of the way. Secondly, our aim is to supply you with equipment that will allow you to get the most from your astrophotography. Our philosophy here is that we have chosen equipment we believe represents the best value and is actually useful for taking images. We won’t have a massive range because not everything is relevant for Astrophotography. You won’t for instance find endless lists of telescopes because unless they are useful for taking images then we don’t believe we should encourage you to buy them.
