I'm just starting my photography business, but have gotten alot of compliments on the pictures I've taken so far. I most enjoy taking photos of rodeos, horses & candid shots. I will also do weddings, families, engagements, birthdays, anniversaries, senior & graduation pictures. I do most all of my pictures outside, I'm not a portrait photographer at this time...but it's a possibility in the future!
I grew up on a cattle ranch in western South Dakota. I've been riding horses since I was 3 & started rodeoing when I was 6 years old. I competed in barrels & poles, 4-H horse shows, queen contests, Little Britches, SDRA rodeo & college rodeo. I quit rodeoing for several years when I got married & had my family. Following my divorce I moved back 'home' to South Dakota, bought a new horse & did some NBHA races for a couple years. As my barrel horse gets older I've decided that for now I'm going to enjoy 'just riding' & compete when the opportunity presents itself, or when I can replace him with a younger horse.
I've always enjoyed taking pictures as a hobby. I started with a Kodak 110 Instamatic as a teenager, then onto a Pentax 35mm film camera & then to a smaller Pentax automatic film camera as my kids were growing up. A few years ago I purchased the Canon Rebel XTI that I'm currently using & am slowly adding additional lenses to my 'camera case'! Some recent changes in my life provided me the opportunity turn a hobby into a business. It's a great way to stay involved with rodeo & horse events. It's a great way to meet people & to reconnect with past rodeo friends.
