Chinese Students and Scholars Association - Texas A&M University Texas A&M University is located in College Station, Texas. It opened on Oct. 4, 1876 as Texas' first institution of higher learning, and is now one of a select few institutions in the nation to hold triple federal designation as a Land-Grant, Sea-Grant and Space-Grant university. It consistently ranks among the country's top 20 universities in both enrollment of National Merit Scholars and in annual research spending. The university endowment is valued at approximately $4.4 billion, which ranks third among U.S. public universities and seventh overall.
