Todd Tremeer, Painter & Printmaker • Painting History • History Painting … from museum collections, military exhibits and dioramas and historical artefacts Todd Tremeer - Painting History. Canadian artist Todd Tremeer sees history again by painting from the dioramas and artefacts found in museum collections. He draws inspiration from sources as diverse as military battle dioramas to the looting of the Baghdad Museum. Representing representation through oil paintings, watercolours, drawings, murals, and etchings, Tremeer's work strategically falls short of the grand narrative tradition called 'history painting' but instead recalls the playful and naïve world of war games, illustration and model soldiers. Tremeer has been the recepient of numerous awards, grants and exhibitions, most recently the Joseph Plaskett Award and Ontario Arts Council grants. Toddtremeer.com~Site InfoWhoisTrace RouteRBL Check
