Saint Dunstan's University Saint Dunstan's University was the first post-secondary institution on Prince Edward Island. From 1855 until SDU closed its campus in 1969, with the formation of UPEI, St. Dunstan's mission was to educate spiritually and intellectually informed Catholic citizens. While it no longer operates a campus, the Board of Governors of St. Dunstan's University continues its mandate to promote Catholic education within the Diocese of Charlottetown, through scholarship programs and support for religious studies courses.
