Early Words Early Words is responsible for programs to help preschool children and their families deal with deafness, blindness, low vision or speech difficulties. Early Words is responsible for the implementation of three programs that are centrally administered by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. The Preschool Speech and Language program is our community-wide system of preschool speech and language services in Hamilton. The Infant Hearing Program services the needs of young children with permanent hearing loss in Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, Hamilton, and Niagara. Ontario's Blind Low Vision Early Intervention Program is designed to give children who are born blind or with low vision the best possible start in life.
