Adapting the strategy principles or doctrine of De Jomini for the business environment, we
arrive at the following doctrine: Successful business strategies are based on the skill and the art of concentrating the
resources of the firm and deploying these at a point where the competition is both weakest and susceptible to crippling damage, without endangering one’s present
position.
Bundling, in this context, means to concentrate and coordinate the resources, to create
cohesion and focus them on the objective and, as De Jomini will later teach us, to apply
them in a concerted effort so as to give a simultaneous effort. We will use the word ‘to
bundle’ to mean this composite meaning.
This principle of a successful business strategy is the basis of this
book.
This principle did not, of course, come about by itself. It was derived from an amalgamation
