ABookByMyDog is a celebration! A way to honor our relationships with our animal companions - our dogs, horses, cats or cockatoos.
Why a book? The first one I made was a gift for a friend who had rescued a dog from the streets of brazil. I saw how much sheer joy the book brought him, how he loved showing it to his friends, how he reads it over and over... and I knew how happy it made me to make it.
Creating these books brings together my passion for photography and for words paired with images. The telling of these intimate stories allows me to express my lifelong fascination with animals and their connection to us.
I feel priveleged to have had animal companions all my life - from my first miniature poodle, to taking care of oranguans at the London Zoo. My animal companions bring me back to the absolute joy of the present moment, again and again, even when I am certain I do not have the time. I understand that these inexplicable bonds that we form are precious, and, as with all of our moments in our most significant relationships, they are also fleeting.
Each book becomes and exceptional opportunity to bring to the light and to express the joy and love we share with our beautiful animal companions. Our deep connections to one another are revealed each time in a totally unique way.
