In the past Kamdani used to be done with real gold and silver wires. However with changing time it is replaced by Mokaish wires. Wires are treated by a process which is a closely guarded family secret to give it an antiquated appearance. Then it is flattenned and used to craft patterns on textile. No needle is used to weave the wire into the fabric.
Authentic kamdani work is now only done by a single family under the tutelage of the last man who learned it from his forefathers and has not found his next clan worthy of guarding the secret and thus refused to pass on the knowledge.
