Katie MacDowell Arist, Ecological Atheologian, and Ecopsychologist Katie Batten MacDowell is a published poet and author, produced singer-songwriter and orchestral composer, and an active researcher concerned with the human relationship to the natural world. Collectively her artistic work has been called heartbreaking, intimate, and beautiful as it is rigorously confronting on painful issues of being human. In 2010, a retrospective album, She Waits: A Retrospective, including her vocal/piano compositions and pieces from her more recent orchestral works, was released. Her research may be found in numerous journals and she has written three theology textbooks. She is currently working on several additional texts and is the founder of the tuition-free Ocean Seminary College.
