SPINAL CHANGES IN MICROGRAVITY A series of experiments are described carried out on two astronauts before, during and after the flight of Space Shuttle Columbia in July 1994. These experiments have been described briefly in a final report to NASA in 1997. Detailed reports on some experiments have been published in peer reviewed journals. The major body of work in microgravity has not been published in detail as it was hoped to continue the measurements on more subjects. With the termination of the shuttle program in 2011 this is now unlikely. It is thought that this information is too valuable to not be made public.
