Our Grandmothers, mothers, wives and daughters are the focus of this year's festival because they are indeed the back-bone of this wild and beautiful land! From the steady and uncompromising work of Nurse Myra Bennett in Tempting Providence to the hardships of Elizabeth Goudie as she lived and worked in Labrador in Woman of Labrador to Stars In The Sky Morning, a powerful and insightful drama where the lives, dreams, joys and adversities of life on the coast is reflected. And there's more! Plays like Ed & Ed - Trapped which returns for it's 4th season or Paul Ledoux and Al MacDonald's Saltwater In My Socks. We also have Magic Jack and The Jellybean Stalk for the children - heck, just bring the entire family to Gros Morne Theatre Festival 2003! We're situated in the middle of the Gros Morne National Park on the Great Northern Peninsula, complete with stunning views, spectacular mountain vistas, incredible hiking, biking and camping. Promedios For many people who live in the developed world use of video cameras, VCR's, TV's, and computers is a daily occurrence. But when one speaks with indigenous peoples about access to this technology they say it is only a dream. For centuries indigenous people and their cultures have been represented by people from the outside. Recently over the past few years there has been an effort to get new communication technology into the hands of indigenous people so that they can represent themselves, with their own words and images.
