miranda skoczek - intro Within my practice, I investigate the history of visual culture and image making. My canvases are a sampling and remixing of the decorative iconography that has existed throughout the ages. Flora and fauna (the ultimate in decoration) interacts with the visual languages of ornamentation, enabling me to construct a space of fantasy, luxury and opulence. My paintings are of a personal language, yet they are familiar and accessible. A highly modern reconfiguring of images often unrelated, yet always celebrating goodness and hope. Julia Miranda | Miami, Artista Nació en Camagüey, Cuba. Desde una temprana edad sintió gran interés por la pintura. Llegó al exilio en 1969 y fijó su residencia en Nueva York.
