Historic - Fort Myer A site dedicated to the US Army Post that has origins during the US Civil War as one of the 70 fortifications surrounding Washington DC. It is now the showcase installation for the US Army and home to the US Army Band - "Pershing's Own", the 3d Infantry Regiment - "The Old Guard" and Headquarters Company of the US Army. It defended the Capital then and continues to this day.
