Ray Richardson Ray Richardson was born in Woolwich, S.E London in 1964. He graduated from St Martins School of Art in 1984 and Goldsmiths College of Art in 1987.His paintings present snapshots of contemporary life. His paintings are narrative in that they seem to be telling a story, but that story is open to the viewer’s interpretation. It is like watching a panned and scanned version of a widescreen film. There is a mesmerising interface in his work between past and present, the contemporary scenes represented are executed in a very traditional manner, using techniques employed since the Renaissance.
