Salkantay Trek This five-day adventure is a trekker’s delight that was ranked as a Top 20 trek by National Geographic Adventurer. Salkantay is a trekking experience never to be forgotten. The trek traverses high passes with dramatic high mountain views. Salkantay (6,270mt-20,565ft) was one the most sacred mountains in Inka mythology. Salkantay was viewed as an “Apu” (a god) whose spirit influenced all aspects of life in ancient people. The trek’s highest point passes so close to this majestic peak that its avalanches and glaciers had be both heard and seen breaking away.
