Specializing in meeting the needs of clients who demand critically timed images taken in extreme conditions, D.J. has worked all over the globe in destinations as diverse as Indonesia, Australia, Micronesia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Central and South America, and up and down the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. and California. For the past 9 years, D.J. has been a Senior Staff Photographer (editorial photojournalist and action sports photogrpaher) for Surfing Magazine. Additionally, he worked for Reef as a commercial photographer and currently serves as Globe Internationals retained commercial photographer. His work has been published internationally in numerous magazines including Outside, National Geographic Adventure, Stab, Surf Europe, Zig Zag, Fluir, and Japanese Surfing Life. Photographs taken while free diving in the Gulf of Mexico captured the struggle between a freedive spearfisherman and a massive tigershark caused an international sensation this year appearing in news outlets world wide and were featured prominently in Outside, as the cover of the New York Post, and on television on ABC, NBC, FOX, CNN, and CBS. While editorial and commercial photography have been the mainstay of D.J.s career, he continues to enjoy shooting weddings and family portrature as a means to refresh his perspective and maintain his creativity.
