Our roots date back to 1975 when a number of contractors in Trail, BC, were denied access to bidding on taxpayer funded construction projects by the NDP government of the day, simply because their employees chose not to be part of the building trade unions. The contractors formed this association, creating a province-wide grass roots movement. Since then, we have grown and continue to champion open tendering and fair treatment for all contractors and their employees, regardless of their union affiliations.
